History of the HVCA

 
 
 
 
 
Founded in 1999 by a group of local community leaders interested in the arts,  the Huron Valley Council for the Arts (HVCA) is dedicated to the belief that community life is enriched and enhanced by the arts in its many forms. In 2000 the HVCA was approved by the federal and state governments as a not-for-profit, 501(C)(3)    organization with an elected Board of Directors.
 
In 2003 the HVCA, with growing interest and community support, found its current home at the historic Highland Station House, located on Livingston Road in Highland Township. With its new home, HVCA was able to establish a permanent cultural arts center, encompassing an exhibition space, a performance hall, classrooms, and a year-round cooperative gift gallery.
 
 
The HVCA mission is to enhance the cultural life of the region through programs that enrich and entertain, through arts education and through support of Michigan artists.
