Huron Valley Arts Festival is back and celebrating its 6th
year AND HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO TWO DAYS! The festival centers on all things art and includes the
artist market, artist demonstrations, a locally sourced specialty food tent, interactive art theme activities for
everyone, live music and children’s
activities. The festival has wonderful food trucks and tents on hand for all to
enjoy as well.
The show will have no more than 100 artist’s booths for 2017 and the Director reserves the right to invite some of the artists for
this special event.
Aspects of the 2017 festival to note:
Larger 12’ x 12’ booths
A new cancellation policy – if you need to cancel the show
and we can fill your booth space from the waiting list, you’ll receive a refund
of your booth fee less a $10 handling fee.
A new Locally Sourced Specialty Food Tent has been added. If you would like to apply to be a part of it, please contact Erin at firstname.lastname@example.org. All products sold in the tent must be handmade. Tent and tables will be provided for the weekend. 6ft table rental: $120 for the weekend.
3 new awards – People’s Choice, Best Booth and Juror’s
Choice with money and an invitation for 2018
The popularity of the event has skyrocketed over the last 4
years and with our artist friendly changes, we’re hoping to make it the kind of
show you can’t wait to do again.
$21 for each category you’re applying in
$180 for single 12’x12’ booth
$360 for double booth 12’X24’
All booth fees are
due upon acceptance and must be paid online through the HVCA website.
All applications must be completed online through our portal
and must include 3 images of artist’s work and 1 image of your fully stocked
Each application allows for the jurying of one artist in one
Artists wishing to enter in more than one medium must submit
separate applications, images and application fee payment for each entry.
Artists wishing to show ANY jewelry in a booth must also
apply in the jewelry category.
Deadline for entries is April 30, 2017. Accepted artist will be announced on May 7th. All booth fees must be paid by May 12, 2017 or you will forfeit your space to the waitlist.
Open to all artists.
Work must be original concept, hand-made and non-mass
produced or imported. NO BUY/SELL. Any
artist determined by staff to be engaged in “buy-sell” will be asked to leave
immediately without a refund.
Only artists accepted into the show will be allowed to
participate. Picture ID of the artist is required when checking in
Exhibitors must stay within the space allotted. Subletting,
selling, or giving space to anyone will not be permitted.
All exhibitors must remain open during the published hours
of the show 10am-5pm. Absolutely no
taking down will be permitted prior to 5pm.
The ARTIST is
required to attend the event and display and sell his/her own original work.
Only the work juried into the show may be shown. Mass
produced jewelry/settings, strung beads, dried flowers must play a subordinate
role in the work submitted and may not be sold separately. All copies,
commercial molds/kits, musical tapes and commercially printed books are
strictly prohibited. Questions about prohibited items should be directed to the
All reproductions must be marked as reproductions and 2/3 of
work shown in the booth must be original.
The festival administrators reserve the right to reject any
work it considers unsuitable, or that was not juried.
The festival administrators reserve the right to interpret
Artists are responsible for collecting and filing Michigan
White tents only please. If you are unable to provide a tent you make request a space in the large 20x30 artist tent on a first come first serve basis.
Exhibitors that are not in festival provided covered spaces
must have a professional artist tent or comparable to cover the booth area
designated by the festival staff.
All materials must be contained within the allotted display
No debris may be left on the grounds after breakdown.
Festival administrators reserve the right to assess an
additional fee for artists display outside of their set area or that leave
debris after breakdown.
Booth fee will be refunded in full if the booth is able to
be filled from the waiting list minus a $10 handling charge. If we are unable
to fill the booth no refunds will be given for cancellation. Festival is rain
or shine and no refunds will be made due to weather.
Neither HVCA nor its affiliates or partners during the Huron
Valley Arts Festival shall be liable for any injuries, damages, theft or loss
sustained by any participants/artists, his/her heirs, or any person or organization
arising out of the event. By signing the application, participants hereby fully
and forever release HVCA, Commerce Township or any affiliates, and volunteers
from any and all causes of action, claims, and demands of any nature that arise
out of the event.
