Cynthia Ernst

Welcome ~ New artist

As an art teacher, I have been intensely involved with many mediums.

The fiber arts that I create are delicately Nuno-felted silk scarves and garments embellished with dyed fiber from my herd of alpacas. Felted flowers embellish many of my scarves. I also create needle felted mini-sculptures and holiday ornaments and felted/knit Madeline hats for sale.

My sculpted, hand-built or wheel-thrown pottery often has a seasonal or animal theme. Many works are under glazed to mimic watercolor painting others have pressed prints appliqued on to a thrown pot. I am known for my stoneware animal caricature salt shakers that bring a smile to the faces of viewers. All of my work is influenced by my love for nature, gardening, and animals.
