My contemporary jewelry is individually handcrafted from sterling silver, mixed metals, and stones. I have designed and made jewelry for over 20 years. However, it wasn't until my retirement as an educator that I expanded my metalsmith endeavors and opened Deer Creek Studio with my husband, Todd. Textures and shapes seen anywhere and everyday influence my designs. The ripples in a lake, smooth stones on a riverbank, sprinkles on a cake and a tin of sardines have offered inspiration and found their way into my pieces. Designs move from paper to my bench where they are hand-fabricated with the traditional techniques and tools of metalsmithing jewelry. Each piece is uniquely handmade, so there may be slight differences from images pictured. I hope people enjoy wearing my pieces as much as I enjoy making them.
