Carmen Kennedy is a self-taught fused glass artist. Although classically trained as a potter, she changed mediums from clay to glass. Most of her work is nature-themed, although she does some sculptural work that has a more contemporary aesthetic. She has shown her glasswork throughout Michigan and Ohio for the past 10 years and has won numerous awards and recognition for her work. Most recently, in 2017, Carmen has been recognized by the ARC of Oakland County as Volunteer of the Year for her work with adults with developmental disabilities, in assisting them to create and sell their artwork. She is a member of both the Guild of Artists and Artisans and The Huron Valley Council for the Arts.
